The aim of Young Arts is to encourage youngsters to enjoy and participate in all aspects of the arts by inspiring them with a lasting enthusiasm for the arts and an awareness of our arts heritage and its conservation.

Young Arts 2024:

This year we sponsored the prizes for the annual School Art Competition at St Mark's Church, Tattenham Corner.The theme was "Nature and the Environment". Prizes were  awarded in two age categories.

The annual "Young Arts" grant of £500 is awarded towards the cost of an item of equipment or towards cost of an event that promotes the arts and creativity amongst young people, within the Walton area.  If you are aware of an organisation that would like to be considered for funding in future, contact details are on the programme card.

The Arts Society encourages its Societies to provide Young Arts opportunities in two ways:

Young Arts Projects: an arts related activity for young people (usually a one off) funded wholly or partly by an Arts Society.

Young Arts Groups: these are affiliated to a local society; YA Groups organise regular arts related activities for their young members aged 8-18.

Our vision is equality of opportunity for all to learn through participation in the arts and it is rewarding to witness the pleasure and inspiration the children gain from such experiences.
